Installing a square air duct with bracket C: quote, how to install it correctly

Only install the square air duct with bracket C when there are technical requirements form the project, or the unit has installation requirements. Or used for ducts with side lengths less than 20mm. So how to install the C-shaped square air duct with the correct standard? What’s the cost? Please refer to he article below with P69 Company.

What is C brace square air duct?

C-shaped square air duct is a type of air duct that has the effect of ventilation, air conditioning to help bring cool space, clean air without being secretive. The C brace, is very popular with customers.

Advantages and disadvantages of square air ducts with C splints

Compared with conventional ducts, the C-shaped square air duct has many outstanding advantages. Detail:

  • Compact size, suitable for moving, installation, does not take too much time or labor.
  • Maximize space saving while ventilation efficiency remains stable. This creates the most favorable conditions for the ventilation system in small, cramped, and secretive works.
  • The price of C-shaped square air duct is always competitive, cheaper than TDC flange and V flange.

However, the biggest limitation of the C-shaped square air duct is that it is only suitable for use in small and narrow projects. For projects with a larger area, ventilation systems that require great performance, the square duct C brace cannot meet.

Installation instructions for square air ducts

1.Transport and lift the duct

After the ducts are  transported to the installation site, they are supported by specialized lifting devices, pulleys, hoits or manually to assist in lifting the ducts to the required position.

2. Anti-corrosion for ductwork

– Wipe off the dust or rust on the surface of the ductwork and keep the pipe dry before applying the primer.

– Must paint in a dry environment, thin, even paint film, say no to paint residue, uneven, lumpy, wrinkled, and impurities.

– The brackets and supports must also be painted with anti-corrosion paint like the ductwork. Note the need to repaint the last layer when installing the complete system.

3. Duct insulation

To insulate the ductwork, two basic methods are used; insulation panels and insulation wool, specially as follows:

– Insulation sheet made of polymeric material with a silver coating

After cleaning the duct surface, apply glue outside, cut and stick the insulation sheet on the duct. After 10 minutes to 12 hours, the glue will dry again. Note, all seams and joints must be insulated to ensure safety.

– Fiberglass insulation wool with silver coating

4. Connecting the ducts

When performing this operation, do not place electrical wires. cables and harmful gas pipes, especially flammable gas or liquid pipes inside the duct. This is an important principle in how to install a standard duct.

5. Air duct connection with flexible connection

When connecting air ducts with flexible connections, care should be taken to use flexible connections of sufficient length, should not be stretched or stretched too much, which will cause blockage of the ducts.

6. Connect the air duct to the vent box

When connecting the flexible duct to the air intake box, use a 20mmx0.6mm brace or a wire with good torsion resistance and a length suitable for the circumference of the flexible duct. Pay attention to tighten the brace nut or twist the wire to the round neck wall mounted on the duct box.

7. Connecting ducts and accessories

–  Connecting air duct with flow control valve, fire prevention valve, one-way valve

–  Connecting air ducts to shrinking, reducing fittings (similar to connecting ducts to ducts)

8. Install the louver and plenum box with the wall

  • The louver is caught in the opening located on the outdoor side of the wall
  • The air box is caught in the opening located on the inside of the wall

9. Install the air inlet and vent box with the ceiling and wall
